- Can I connect my existing photovoltaic panels/ wind turbine to the FB10/100?
We design each system to meet a particular energy need in a given location. There is not one system to meet every need; therefore we make offers on an individual basis. The price will also be dependent on the order size (number of systems).
Do you supply to Africa/ America/ Asia/ Oceania?
Due to the recent introduction of the FB10/100 we are currently able to supply systems primarily to Europe. We intend to expand our activities to other continents in the near future, so please check our site regularly!
The FB10/100 is a rather large battery for typical single family houses. It stores 100 kWh of electricity, whereas a typical house in Europe takes around 8 - 12 kWh/ day and an efficient off-grid house with gas cooking and heating may take 3 – 5 kWh/ day. Therefore, Cellstrom solutions are best suited to groups of apartments or large houses/ villas – especially if air conditioning and/ or heat pumps are to be considered.
Do you have smaller systems than the FB10/100?
At this present time we are introducing the FB10/100 only. If there is sufficient demand, e.g. > 100 pieces, we will produce smaller systems.
Do your systems have to include a diesel generator?
No! Diesel generators do not have to be included in the energy mix. However, diesel generators can add reliability to a system and may significantly reduce the purchase price. Typically, in the winter large photovoltaic panels must be used to capture the low amount of sunshine, in summer these are oversized and hence not used effectively. A diesel generator could provide energy primarily in the winter and thus reduce the size of the photovoltaic panels needed. The decision to include a generator depends on many factors but is not essential.
Can you send more information about the FB10/100?
We are more than pleased to answer specific enquiries about our products. However, you will find all of our general information available on the downloads page.
How high are the operating and maintenance costs?
For systems with a generator the fuel usage will be estimated when the system is planned. The smart controller provides information when a service action is necessary other than the annual check-up, and so the operating and maintenance costs are rather low. It is expected that the stacks must be replaced after 10 years at a cost of roughly 15% of the FB10/100 purchase price.
Can I connect my existing photovoltaic panels/ wind turbine to the FB10/100?
Yes, solar panels present no problem although if you are currently using a charger and/ or inverter this may need to be changed to one more appropriate to the vanadium battery. Wind turbines can, in principle, be connected to the FB10/100, although we would have to conduct testing to ensure the compatibility, due to the wide range in small wind turbine characteristics.
